FAQ’s

From install, to cleaning, to warranty, these are our most frequently asked questions. Check out our YouTube video where we address these same questions!

Are your covers trailerable?

Our covers are not meant to be trailered. They are for storage purposes only. Trailering with your cover will void your warranty.

What are the differences in the fabric options?

We offer 8oz, 9oz, and Sunbrella fabric options. Our 9oz is going to be our lightest option with a 5 year warranty and Sunbrella is our heaviest option with a 6 year warranty. Our 9oz fabric is a solution-dyed polyester and Sunbrella is a solution-dyed acrylic.

Can you modify your covers for trolling motors?

We currently are not able to modify our covers for trolling motors. If you have a trolling motor, you’ll need to make sure it’s removable, or you can take your cover to a local canvas shop to have them modify your cover for a trolling motor.

Are your covers waterproof?

Our covers are not waterproof, only water resistant.

Should I order online or call and speak with someone?

Ordering on our website is always going to be the easiest and most efficient option. If you feel more comfortable speaking with someone over the phone to place your order, you can always call us.

How long does it take to receive my cover after it’s been ordered?

Our lead times change throughout the year, but for a more accurate lead time, please reach out to us. Currently, We are on an 8 week lead time.

Can you run with our boat shades up?

Due to the stretchy material of our shades, we do not recommend running with our bow shades up because it can obstruct your view. You can however run up to 35 knots with our aft shade.

How long does it take to install a cover?

Install time varies from person to person, but we usually see an average install time of 5-10 minutes. You can check out our YouTube channel for timed cover installs.

How many sandbags do I need to purchase?

You do not need sandbags when installing your cover. We do suggest sandbags if you are on a lift or a windy channel to keep your cover down. We suggest 4-8 sandbags depending on the size of your boat.

What kind of life will I get out of my cover?

Our 9 oz is going to have 7-8 years of use and Sunbrella 10 or more years.

How do I clean my cover?

You’re first going to brush off any loose dirt and hose it down.

Then prepare a solution of water, and mild soap like Dawn or Woolite and use a soft bristle marine brush to clean. Allow the solution to soak into the fabric for up to 20 minutes.

After you’ve let it sit, you’ll want to rinse the cover or curtain thoroughly until all soap residue is removed and air dry.

How do I clean my shade?

To clean your shade, you’ll want to wash it either by hand with cold water, or machine wash it in cold water on a gentle cycle. Use little detergent if needed, but no bleach and no fabric softener. After washing, you can dry on low heat for 5-10 minutes.

I’ve got the 9oz cover for my 350 Everglades. Love the cover! Is there anything I can do to maximize it’s lifespan? Waterproofing? UV protection? Thanks

    1. Marketing Team says:

Hey Richard! Routine cleaning and yearly water repellency using something like 303 would be the best way to do that.
